Rhodes, Lauck & Associates Sponsors Operation Snuggle-Up
Memphis, TN--July 27, 2005 -- As part of their community service campaign, Rhodes, Lauck & Associates, Inc. (RLA) donated over 840 Anna Victoria Snuggle-Up™ rag dolls to LeBonheur Children's Hospital and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
"Since both hospitals use our dictation transcription and voice recognition technology to record the medical record, we wanted to give something back to them," said James P. Lauck, Jr., CEO of Rhodes, Lauck & Associates. "So when local downtown children's author Mary Padron, winner of a local National Library Award for her contribution to literacy in Memphis, asked us if we would sponsor Operation Snuggle-Up, we said 'yes.' It was a win-win donation for us because we helped children and also supported local artistic talent at the same time."
Thomas Hobson, manager of the Child Life Department at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center, said, "the dolls will be used as prizes for the children's game shows that we broadcast to our young patients via LeBonheur's closed-circuit television. We're also going to use the dolls as part of LeBonheur's Happy Birthday program, whereby a little girl who is in our hospital on her birthday will receive the doll as a present."

Debbie Webb, Donor Service Rep for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, said that St. Jude will use the dolls in fundraisers, as gifts at the Ronald McDonald House for the siblings of patients, and in charity goodie-bag handouts.
Padron approached Rhodes, Lauck & Associates for sponsorship because of their mutual connection with hospitals and schools. Padron, dressed up as the Christmas Fairy and Anna Victoria, has read her book A Magical Christmas Dream to many of the children in the same hospitals and schools where RLA provides the latest technology in office automation, speech recognition, voice processing, and high-speed, multifunctional digital printing systems.
Founded in 1949, RLA presently enjoys business relationships with over 3,500 active businesses in the Mid-South area, making their third-generation, family owned and operated business, the oldest and largest dictation, transcription, voice recognition company in the South East.
